Die impression stencil material has been successfully developed to produce good clear marks for variable information such as serial numbering or batch marking.
The impression is produced with a standard typewriter or dot matrix printer (24 pin is best). The Stencil paper is fed into the printer so the type or print head will strike the coloured surface. After printing, the paper backing is peeled away and discarded. Some printers and typewriters can operate either in 'stencil mode' or without the ribbon in place, this will produce a sharper stencil.
The Stencil paper is available in the following grades:
- AG - Used for longer runs, the material is semi-transparent, making alignment easier for oxiding and etching.
- BE - Used for longer runs, the material is a thinker grade than BEM. Used for oxiding and etching.
- BEM - Lighter grade than AG and BE.
- TF - Tractor Fed for Dot Matrix printers. Also a lighter grade than BE or AG.
The Brother P-Touch range of labelling equipment can also be used along with our Brother P-Touch compatible range of stencil tapes to create your own stencils.
