UMS are delighted to announce that we have teamed up with leading marking equipment manufacturer, SIC Marking, headquartered in Lyon, France, as sole distributor for their range of dot marking (dot peen) and scribe systems. The agreement covers UK & Ireland based sales, custom applications, installation, servicing and parts supply for the SIC machines.
The wide range of portable, column-mounted and integrated machines available can meet the needs of the most demanding marking applications on all types of materials from plastic to 62Hrc steel. The equipment is known for its robust construction and high reliability as well as its consistent controlled high precision and marking quality. Being electromagnetic there is no need for an air supply.
The e7 Portable and Benchtop Systems
The self contained e7 controller can be used with the portable p62 and p122 (P122 has a large marking window of 120mm x 40mm). It has a graphical lcd screen with self explanatory icons making it extremely easy to use and is fully programmable. Serial numbers, date, batch codes and logos can be applied in varying character sizes and fonts and can save up to 1000 files.
It can do angular and radial marking. The p62 and p122 have a removable front plate which gives the flexibility of being able to get into deep pockets for marking. The portables can also be easily turned into a benchtop machine (with the addition of a column) so you can have the flexibility of benchtop and portable marking with just the one controller.
The e8 Portable, Benchtop and Integrated Systems
The e8 series controller can be used with the portable p62 and p122 mentioned above. It can also be used with the heavy duty column mounted c151 and is available with a rotary axis for marking cylindrical objects. The C151za has unique auto sensing and auto touch-off features for automated approach and part detection. The C151za is compliant with Aerospace standards inc UID, Mil130M, ISO16022 and JES131 for data matrix codes and human readable text.
The e8 controller has a large graphical screen with preview feature and the keyboard has an industrial membrane keyboard with dust proof housing. It is fully programmable using Windows software (either PC based or self contained) and has USB, RS232, RS422 and RS485 (option) connections as well as TCP/IP Ethernet (RJ45) port (option). It has 8 inputs/outputs. The e8 also features integrated self diagnostics via an integrated chip enabling data tracking for maintenance.

There is a double stylus option to allow for increased throughput and different marking window sizes up to 150mm x 100mm. The integrated heads are of very robust construction designed for use in demanding environments and they feature protective bellows or shutters. Customised marking windows sizes, software, tooling and fixtures are all available.
The e8 Scribe Systems
The SIC range also features a scribing dot marker which gives a continues marking motion resulting in a very high quality mark. It is extremely quiet, fast (up to 5 characters per second) and excellent marking precision and has a marking depth up to 0.7mm.
Accessories
Accessories for the SIC range include a cart for the portables, a battery and charger option, a nameplate holder, a tag feeder, 1d barcode reader and extended stylus options.
