Component:

Aluminium

Technology Type:

Dot Peen Marking

Requirement:

The customer required a solution to mark the aluminium brake camshaft gears for traceability purposes.

Technical Details:

  • Material: Aluminium
  • Mark type: Data matrix and alphanumerical Z axis driving for two marking areas
  • Marking cycle: 20-30 seconds

Solution:

Three Graphix Inline 20W laser marking stations including Datalogic Matrix 300N were installed on the customers' production line.

The equipment was required to mark the aluminium brake camshaft gears for traceability. Each station is equip with protective housing positioned above a conveyor belt with an access door that is reachable from below.

The camshaft gears are transported on the conveyor belt and stops under the laser station, a cylinder then positions the part at the station and the part is then securely marked.

The mark is then read and validated, if it does not pass validation then it is sent back to be wiped and remarked.

The lasers are driven via the TCP-IP Ethernet communication control.
